Anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions, and something that we all experience to some degree or another in our lives. Often living with anxiety can be a real struggle, and impacts on our day to day lives, our relationships, our work and the way we feel about ourselves. This is a one day workshop looking into the complexities around anxiety, how it is experienced and how we can help to manage anxiety in ourselves, and help others cope with their anxiety.
This course will cover:
- What is anxiety?
- How is anxiety experienced?
- What causes anxiety?
- The neuroscience of anxiety - what happens in the brain and the body?
- How do we manage anxiety?
- Dealing with panic attacks
- Helping others who are struggling with anxiety
At the end of the course you will have the knowledge and skills to understand what is happening when we’re experiencing anxiety and to be able to manage anxiety more effectively in your own life. You will be able to better recognise the signs of anxiety in others, and how to help assist someone who may be struggling with anxiety.
The workshop consists of a mixture of presentation work, small group exercises and larger group discussion. At the end you will be presented with your workshop certificate of completion. This workshop is certified and counts as CPD, to the value of 7 hours.
